GROUP FILES RECALL PAPERWORK AGAINST JOHN KAVANAGH
Phoenix, AZ- This morning a group called Raise the Bar Arizona filed paperwork to begin a recall effort against State Representative John Kavanagh. “Representative Kavanagh tries to present himself as a small government Republican, when in fact he believes in expanding the reach of the state government to dictate how city governments, private institutions, andshould conduct themselves,” said Raise the Bar Arizona treasurer Anisha Hindocha.
The groups complaint reads:

Following attacks on students, LGBTQ individuals, and attempts to thwart legitimate recall efforts, we have found it necessary to begin recall efforts against State Representative John Kavanagh. In an unprecedented waste of taxpayer money, Representative Kavanagh has advocated for legislation that is discriminatory, unnecessary, and leaving the state open to costly lawsuits. Representative John Kavanagh presents himself as an advocate for small government, while actually attempting to expand the reach of government into Arizonan’s personal lives. Representative John Kavanagh has spent his time in office unconstitutionally attacking specific groups such as students rather than fulfilling his campaign promises to limit government and use taxpayer’s money effectively.

“We need to focus on real issues facing Arizona,”said Raise the Bar Arizona co-chair Ray Ceo Jr., “Our legislators should be focusing on bringing jobs to Arizona and ensuring a well-educated workforce so companies want to expand into our state. Instead Kavanagh is wasting taxpayer time and money on created problems.”

Recently, Kavanagh’s SB1432 strike all amendment has put Arizona in national headlines. “The so-called bathroom bill is in direct response to the City of Phoenix’s recently passed non-discrimination policy,” said Raise the Bar Arizona co-chair Brianna Pantilione, “He would complain if the federal government dictated a similar policy to our state, yet sees no problem doing so to a city government”.

“If the voters wanted a conservative representative, that is not who is in office. We want to make sure he is accountable to his constituents,” said Pantilione.
